I recently had to replace my starting battery, I got a group 31 AGM. I have a 620 ranger but a console steer. What Ive done to not let the starting battery run down is periodioctly run the big outboard because it charges much more. So far haven't been dead in the water with the big outboard not starting. Also I carry a set of jumper cables to jump off my trolling motor batteries I did have to do this once and It saved me. A guide told this tip. I know a lot boats don't have room for extra batteries so you have to make sure the batteries you got are top notch. I know I wouldn't want to be stuck out there when a big lightning storm comes rolling in and you want to get off the lake quick.
