what model and year is the boat? there are a few options.

if it's a tweener and your next dream boat uses the same hp, then a new f90 and you can swap power to anything you look for knowing you have a great motor and warranty.

as a tweener and next boat is bigger/different altogether then, sell junk motor and re-power used and do your best selling it ... you should be able to find a used elpto merc reasonably and that won't sell the same as if you had the original f90, but it won't kill you either.

if you suck it up and change your mind to keep it for long term, i'd re-power new and hope you get the $2k for your old motor vs. putting big money into an '03

in my case, i did a full re-power but mine was not a tweener ... was the one i plan to keep a long time.

good luck ... as for used outboards, check eBay ... and hopefully you have a dealer who is tuned in. i got my situation handled by a dealer that shopped his network for overstocks. you should not have a problem finding used 90HP motors out there if that's the option you choose to go with.
