For those that have this, how detailed is the "base map" that comes with it? Functional at all? Or would I be looking at another $150 for a chip?

The base map stinks for all the lakes I fish. I bought the Lakemaster Minnesota PLUS chip for $123 and I really like it, but can't compare it to any other chips for you.

Look on Amazon to get chips for about $25 under store prices.
