I have not tested the charge of the battery. I do not have a tester. The trolling motor does work, so there is certainly still some charge in it.

If I disconnect the charger from the battery, plug it in, and test the leads, is there something I can look for that way?

I can't remember the brand of the charger (will check tonight), but it seems like I remember reading the manual, and it stating that it was supposed to work the way I said. With the green light on and the red light on when charging.
