ToddM is correct, that 60" beam will probably have a 48" floor, which might not be too bad if it were a welded boat. Welded boats are quite a bit heavier than riveted, plus side of a heavier boat would be that they would be more stable however would drain batteries down sooner. Pros and cons of a riveted boat would be the exact opposite if same size boats were compared, the riveted boats are typically less expensive also. A 17' with an 80" beam with a mod-v riveted would be a great rig. There might be some of them around different dealerships along the Mississippi river.
