Location: West Metro, MN		$8500 sounds like a pretty good price as long as the trailer and outboard are in good shape. I have a 2002 Lund Mr Pike 16 which is similar in size to that Explorer. It will handle just about anything you can safely go out in. A 16-17 foot boat is great for launching and loading by yourself and fishes great with 2 guys, but if you plan to ever fish 3 guys out of it you will wish you had a bigger boat.
