Congratulations on your new boat. My experience with the smaller "C" mounts have not been good. They typically fail to hold the depth finder in place if there is any wave or road action. I would mount the Scotty using the Crestliner sure mount system. I know the gunnel tops in alumacraft are fairly hard aluminum and assume they are the same in crestliner but you should be able to drill and screw almost anywhere allow the gunnel. I believe they also make horizontal top plates for the sure system and that may be an option of the bimini as well.
