Maybe look at a single, 24volt lithium battery? You will have twice the power and less weight than a single 12 volt lead acid battery in a package that is the same size as one regular battery.


Really a good suggestion. Had not looked at 24 V lithium but that sure looks like the way to go if space and weight are a concern. One maker even touted their battery as the way to go with a kayak trolling motor.
