If you really want to see what our grid make up is. This is central US realtime.


It is a part of central USA, but not that big of a part.

In 2021, 38% of all electricity in the USA was produced by natural gas, 22% coal, 20% renewable and roughly 19% nuclear. This data comes from the U.S. Energy Information office, part of the dept. of energy. There is some thought that this year more coal will be used if natural gas prices rise. But coal used a lot of energy to mine and to transport, so that may not be the case.
