Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The weather the next couple days is sunny and warm with moderate winds, then thundershowers for the rest of the week. Everyone is amped up to get after the muskies, but Sue and I will be multi-specie fishing to showcase the incredible fishing Vermilion offers for Bass, Crappies, Bluegills, and Walleyes. Of course, we'll pitch for muskies too... Stand by for more reports as they come in. Attachments ---------------- DSC_0002.jpg (55KB - 240 downloads)

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We just got in a bit ago, and most everyone is still out for the full moon night bite. We fished a couple hours this evening, shallow and weeds/rock or weeds/sand were the choice. The Pike are shallow, and keep things interesting, we boated a few today ( I lost a TANK, mid 40's class, heartbreaker). We moved one Muskie, a pretty good one. Maybe tomorrow. Saw Jerome figure 8ing like crazy, he moved a good one out in 5 to 6' as we went by bass fishing in the slop. Dockside at noon tomorrow with Steve from Spring Bay offering advice for the rest of the week. LOTS of great prizes. Soon as we hear from some of the other boats, we'll update. Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Most of the crew is fishing very late, won't know until morning. Steve presented a Vermilion Pattern seminar dockside yesterday at noon. Lots learned for sure! Sponsors included Suick (Some 10" Weagles, too...), Tackle Industries (thanks for the rod donation, James!), Tooth Tamer/Dreamcatcher, OutdoorsFIRST Media, Rubber Hairy, and Spring Bay Resort. Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Looks like a cooker out there today, with high temps supposed to be on the low 90's. Everyone is on the water or sleeping from fishing all night. Suick dockside seminar is at noon, we'll have an update then. Sue and I were fishing the West end and heard a guy hollering at the top of his lungs about losing the biggest %$#@!!* fish he had ever seen. Not sure if they were from Camp here, as we couldn't see the boat behind a series of little islands, but he wasn't happy... Attachments ---------------- DSC_0063.jpg (64KB - 243 downloads)

I laugh because I know what its like and the fact that it had to be entertaining for others to hear. Hopefully he gets another shot at her.

Me and my buddy were fishing on the west end of the lake this weekend. Just noticed this thread. The two fish I caught came on super models off of the rock reefs. Both of them were 49" Attachments ---------------- vermilion.jpg (25KB - 244 downloads) vermilion 2.jpg (16KB - 228 downloads)

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The big pike are sure active this week. Talked to a couple boats this evening, they were moving muskies at moonrise, as were we. Missed a good one a couple casts after busting the pike with ARmuskyaddict after the Worrall cabin Fish fry. Attachments ---------------- Sequence 01.Still001.jpg (100KB - 244 downloads)

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Jerome had a good one launch his Weagle back at hime last night. shaley's boat scored another, and there was another caught before the huge storms rolled through last night. Sue and I got another nice pike around 34, and a muskie not alot bigger tonight (jumped clear outof the water on the hookset, fun fish), plus a few 9" class gills, two smallmouth, and a couple perch for tomorrow's dinner. The fish moved at moonrise/sunset tonight, so there may be some more we don't know about yet. The Spring Bay steak fry was absolutely superb tonight, everyone had a great time and the food and hospitality was excellent! Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Something of interest, fishing the West end of Vermilion has been a pleasure. I have only had one time where I headed to a spot and a boat was there, and the spot is 400 yards long. We started on the end so the other boat would stay a couple hundred yards ahead of us, and caught a nice pike and a Muskie. SOOOOO many good spots to fish, and so much water.

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Outing is winding down as most are still on the water after the Fish Fry at Spring Bay Resort. the hospitality has again been stellar! Tom Trecker took the first place prize of a free week at Spring Bay with a 48.5, Shawn Haley took second and a Frabill cradle with a 47. Eight muskies were boated, and quite a few lost, the fish were pretty good at shaking the bait this week. Quite a few Pike big were caught this week, the largest was a 42 and several were over 36. We never has a cloudy day all week, with a couple days in the 90's and then a couple in the 70's after a blistering thunderstorm and strong cold front. Everyone had a great time. Food and drink were good, and the company even better. Can't wait for next year! Some of the guys already have a cabin booked for the Spring Bay Resort Summer Outing next year. Thanks again to Spring Bay for the great deal on lodging, superb food, and perfect hospitality!
