Location: Clintonville, WI		I recall this being discussed in the past but my various searches of the site have turned up zip.....

I'm sick of baits scattered around my house "organized" in various Lakewoods, Planos, etc. I'm also sick of carrying multiple boxes with me each time I hit the water because most of the baits aren't used each time. So, I've been thinking of ways to organize stuff at home, so all I have to do is pick out a set of baits I will USE for each trip and put them in one box.

I've thought of some sort of peg board mount on a basement wall, simple nails in basement ceiling cross members (too much a target for projectiles though :-O) and others.

What are some of you using to store baits and if there are some unique methods/creations, please share materials used, how to construct, etc.

i hang baits on wires stretched across the shop ceiling. its amazing how many you can get there

Location: Contrarian Island		I got some long 8' wall trim pieces from Menards (hardware store) and hung them in my garage...I just hang the baits on there....all organized by type and then by brand etc....here is a sample pic of part of it..but I have run out of room and need more trim or need to get rid of some baits...ooops

Location: Yahara River Chain		I ran ribs (1x2") across a sheet of plywood (1/2”) and then places little plastic wire hangers (they use them for placing wire on the beams in the ceiling basement) and hang the baits on them. This keeps the baits away from the board and allows the baits to dry. See attachment.

Location: Yahara River Chain		That above was my old board, here is the better one. Mine garage its not heated either, but I don't think it freezes unles s its real cold a long time.

Location: lansing, il		yeah spicoli couldnt tell ya what the bottom of his boat looed like because it is filled with lakewoods, you walk across lakewoods to get from front to back. i love it!!!

Location: Michigan		I built several racks as such:

4x8' plywood sheet cut in half.

1x2 down each side and one in the middle.

Drilled 3/8" holes equally spaced in 1x2's.

3/8" aluminum rods span from one side to the other and can be adjusted for different spacing as needed.

1/4x2 slat serves as and "end cap" to keep the rods from coming out.

Also use Styrofoam coolers, tackle boxes, and Plano boxes for overflow...

Look at all the baits we got, if I had a storage device like you guys got it would look similar, if we wouldnt have gotten into this sport we'd be rich! I wouldnt have it any other way though! All them lure storage devices are pretty nifty, now to convince my parents to let me take over a wall in the basement!

I fully confess to being an addict and obsessive compulsive... Build a rack and you must fill it... What can I say, there are so many awesome production bait out there that i have to have one in each flavor. Then of course, there are all of these amazing pieces of artwork that guys are making in their basements... I appreciate craftsmanship.

Not that I would, but I know if I had to I could recoup most of my investment from the good people of eBay. These baits are part of my "liquid assets".

Location: Athens, Ohio		I use part of a wire shelf, mounted on the wall. You can hang baits 5-6 deep so it uses less horizontal space.

mine wore out last year

But the next time you see a drug store or variety store going out of biz go in and make a bid on their 'sunglass" tree/stand,,these are the ones with revoloving bases and are 4 sided and about 6ft tall,,,,great for hanging your baits on and revololving base allows you to view all also dosent take up all that much room

You guys are nuts man...

All I have is a 4 drawer file cabinet full of 3700 plano boxes, a 7915 box full of bulldawgs, a soft sided tackle bag with 8 3700's, and a homemade lexan box that holds about 50 lures. I thought that was a lot until I saw chadsters racks..

And Nelson, holy DDD's and DR's, man!

Location: Pinckney, Michigan		I've used sheets of pegboard for some time now. I bought small hangers to hang each bait...not knowing how large my lure arsenal would grow. Not as neat as some but it serves a purpose. I simply go downstairs and fill up a box of baits depending on the water that I'm going to fish.

I keep all my baits on custom made racks that I let Rollie and Helens make and keep for me. Then when I need a certain bait, I give them a small storage and shipping fee for their trouble, and they then send the bait to my house. Works great, and I don't have to spend valuable time making the racks and staring at a bunch of lures deciding which to use.

You guys are just nuts. In a good way, but still nuts. Hey anyone ever try running and jumping into one of those walls to see what happens?

I use those "dry your duds" fold-up deals made of wooden dowels. Opened up, it stands 40" tall and has 10 28" long dowels. How many baits can you hang on 23 linear feet? Last, even when full of baits you can lift it and carry it around the house with two hands. Not sure what they cost, but likely not more than $10 or $15 or so.

Location: Minnetonka		Holy smokes... 2 full Planos down in the crawl space isn't nearly as fun to look at in the off season. I'm either building a rack or tearing the sheetrock out of my ceiling. It's like hanging Christmas lights!

How many of you guys looked at all the pictures and thought "hey, I have that, and that one, and that one, and that, and..."

Funny how certain lures in certain colors appear in everyone's arsenal...
