Look at the ratings numbers on any brand you consider. A good one will have a LOT of positive reviews. Dakota Lithium is the leader in the US, I believe.

What's it going to be used for, the real high AH batteries will require install by specifc dealers for warranty and liability purposes.

Battleborn, Victron, Dakota, Mastervolt and Relion are all brands that I would trust. Application is important though.

Ionics, I've been running them 3 years now.  Starting and trolling batteries.  Zero problems, 12 + volts all day.   Ionics have a Blue Tooth system that works with a phone app.  You can monitor the status of your batteries at any time.  With the app it can come in handy trouble shooting any voltage draw.

I have had good luck the last 2 years with Battle Born. Made in America. I run 2 100AH on my Terrova and barely even move the needle on them all day.

I have been using Monster Marine Lithium Batteries made in Arkansas. And have had good performance the last two years.

After much research into brands over past 3 years(you need to dig deeper than facebook), I went with a 125 AH Ionic for starting and all electronics/stereo/pumps etc, and Amped Outdoors(Wisconsin based importer) for the trolling motor. On year 2.

I read some interesting stuff about Powerhouse lithium. 15 year warranty. They also have 16 volt batteries for electronics which is supposed to give them better images than 12 volt batteries. They have some pretty cool stuff on their website.

I switched this year to an Ionic 125 amp hour for all my electronics and starting a 90 HP Merc. Even after 6 hours of running three graphs, live well pumps and radio I was near 80% power and started the motor without the graphs shutting off. Last year running my lead acid battery I would have had to jump start my boat or transfer one of my trolling motor batteries.

Good info. Lithiums by nature, require a charger that brings them to 14.5 volts. An AGM charger will work, but will never bring a lithium battery to full charge, thusly shortening lifespan and reducing the realized benefit.

AS I understand it, if I switched from my AGM to a Lithium, I would need a charger specific to lithium, correct? Current Minnkota charger will automatically do lead acid, AGM and Gel, but no setting for lithium.

Yes, I put a single bank NOCO charger in for the starting, 24 V trolling batteries came with their own. Presently have a 3 bank 15A per bank Dual Pro no longer needed...

North of 8,

I just switched out my batteries to Lithium. I have a 36V Minn Kota Ulterra and went with three Ionic Batteries 12V, 100 aH each based off of a lot of reading from satisfied customers across many forums. Probably overkill, but they should last for many days without needing a charge.

The Ionic batteries come with Bluetooth transmitting to an App where you can read your SOC (state of charge). Per Drewcraft where I bought them, a Minn Kota Precision battery charger can charge Lithium batteries with no damage on the AGM setting. Minn Kota Digital chargers cannot charge Lithium batteries.

I just installed the batteries in my Ranger Reatta yesterday. They came shipped from factory at 58%, and charged to full charge for the first time in 1 hours and 40 minutes. The only thing the Minn Kota Precision chargers will not do is show the charge of the Lithium batteries correctly - they still show 25%. But the Bluetooth app shows 100% and I have been assured that the Battery Management system will turn off charging the batteries when they reach 100%.

I am by no means an expert, but asked the same questions as you and am satisfied with my customer service and first charge. Now, on to the water……

I, too, went with Ionic 100AH lithium battery I'm using for my electronics. One thing to note about lithium is for long term storage Ionic recommends to NOT have the battery fully depleted nor at full charge - typically 70-80% is ideal. This is contrary to lead-acid batteries which last longer with full charge for storage. I top off the charge the night before a fishing trip. I bought a 30A charger to shorten the charge time to around 3.5 hours for fully discharged battery.
