Wasn't planning on it, big boat is now in storage but was at Northern Edge Marine yesterday and got looking at a replica they have on the wall of Tom Gelb's 50lb, 'last day musky' and am now thinking about putting my jon boat in the water and row trolling for a couple hours. If I can figure out some temp rod holders might do that.

I'll be on LVD this weekend, saturday looks like a decent enough day up in Land O Lakes.

I haven't been up to my place since the first weekend in October, any ideas on water temps? We gotta be hitting the mid-30s up there soon enough.

Might hit the Illinois river this weekend. Wind isn't favorable for lake trout on the pond.

Got out on our local lake yesterday. Level at winterpool (-3'), temp 53 degs. Very windy and air between 38-48 degs. Coves are loaded with bait. Missed one using an AC Shiner 00 as a jerkbail. Hit on the rise...too much slack.

I read Matt Gunkel's article in the MH online site about them being very shallow around weeds on Kincaid. Gave that a try although our lake is devoid of any weeds. Targeted fall downs and shallow wood but nada.

Spent a couple hours row trolling on the lake where I live, after spending almost ten minutes breaking the ice near shore to get my jon boat out to open water. Thicker than I expected. Need to work on a better rod holder system for next year, but really enjoyed the time on the water. Got in a rhythm and it felt good. But today, the lake was completely skimmed over when I got up.

I still have the 1” aluminum bolt on rod holders for sale. Page 6, BST forum. Versatile, strong, reliable;)

 Will last a lifetime!

Drove for nearly 3 hours each way, on the water for nearly 6, not one glimpse of a fish.
I'm still finding it difficult to complain...m

Went Yesterday on Yellow Lake. Nothing but follows from small pike, Had small Northern Suckers hanging farther back than the Musky Sucker. Normally they get pounded like a chain smoker going through cigarettes. But nothing.

Was emptying out the boat yesterday morning, prepping for winterizing. Weather was so nice and calm, decided to go to a neighborhood lake for a couple hours, after getting everything put a way. Took one rod and bait. Stuck a very plump 3 footer, to end the season. Boat is empty and ready for winterizing. Raging wind and dropping temps this morning. Glad I snuck in one last stint on the water.

Was up in minoqua area. Lil Arb skimmed over this morning. The big lakes I was on dropped under 40. Last hurrah for me. Best of luck to anyone still going out.

5 hours on the BEAUTIFUL Fox Chain of lakes on Saturday....nada trolling, saw two in the 2 hours of casting I did and caught a MONSTER (5-7lb) channel cat on a shadzilla. I am the king of the world.

Heading out tomorrow. Should be able to cast and drag a sucker. Temps look marginal for being over 32 degrees after Thanksgiving. Just want a shot at (1) more.
