Cold temps have arrived here... finally !
To me this is the BEST time of the yr to fish this awesome Lake.
Daytime temps have been in the low to mid 30's and the last 5-6 nights have been in the mid to low 20's Burrrr.... Tonight 19*
The water temps today were 43-45*.... A warm up in the upper 40's is expected for the week end into next week...which will more than likely screw with the fish.

I went out today at 2;30 and the first spot ,20 min. in got Smoked by a Super FAT 48.5 Tank that didn't want anything to do with the 3 treble hooks that were in her mouth..
I can't believe how hard this fish fought. it made for an awesome memory.

Have fun out there and be Safe.

Nice fish! Keith was over there a couple weeks ago and the deepest water he could find in Black Bay was just over 4'. That area needs some serious rain. Good luck the rest of the season!

That's shallow. I was told rice bay wasn't worth going into either. Let's see the fish! Congrats .G!

No pics.... To busy trying to get 4 hooks out of her.
Wasn't ready and had to deploy the net with my foot and with a couple of lures in it while fighting the fish and blowing into the rocks... A true test of skill and stupidity.
In the narrows and 10-11 ft. of water. Fun, fun, fun !

Well, water temps are going back up...45-47 on the larger bodies of water on the lake.
Maybe a few more weeks of open water left up here ?

Surprising, was out on the chain where I live in Oneida county yesterday and temps were 41-42 yesterday but it is a flowage and shallow so maybe cools faster than deeper body of water

Yeah, we fished the turtle flambeau Flowage last night and water temps were 41.5 in the area we fished. Was 45 today on Vermilion.

A big cool-down happens next weekend, so this will be short lived.

Supposed to be single digit temps this weekend. Could be done. I haven’t been out in a week and a half. Hung it up for the season.

It was cool that you hung it up with a 53 Kirby ! Gets ya pumped for next season.

All of the launches are about a ft. and a half lower than normal. with that said, there will be ice in those areas by Tues./Wens. unless it's windy..... good luck.
