Looking at getting a used 620 or a new 1880 ms/189 prov gl this fall... I fish everything from LOTW to 900 acre shallow lakes. 1880/189 fits in my garage, 620 would have to sit outside. Currently have 18' aluminum and never fished in a glass boat. Thoughts?

I’ve done the whole it’s doesn’t fit in my garage thing and it sucks after a while. Nothing better than backing the boat in and shutting the garage door. No taking gear out, locking stuff, covering the boat, having your gel coat beaten by the sun all summer outside, etc..
Put the boat in the garage. Those other options are nice boats and capable of all your lakes.

I agree with the hassle of keeping the boat outside.. just don't want any regrets spending that type of money... not sure if a just encase box would work for an 1880 or if there would be a gap from the bump out between jump seats. I fish from rear port side. Also the smaller tank(34) in the 1880 vs the 189 with 41 is something to consider. Usually not a big deal except when running and gunning in LOTW if we're ever allowed to cross the border.....

Garage is 21' deep but can modify and have a bump out in my laundry room for the motor. Which I will have to do with the 189 at 22' and the 1880 at 22'4". 619 is definitely something to consider but might be harder to find seeing they are discontinued.

I had a 1860 and now have a 619. The fisherman series is a better boat that rides better in big water and has much better storage. That said the 1860 was on LOTW, Leech, MilleLac's etc....and did just fine. If in the garage 1880 or on the drive 620 were my options I would go 1880 every time. The added value of the 620 do not out weight the hassle of parking outside...

if the boat floats it works. fish don't care. However the 620 is a way better ride when the wind blows.
I would get the 620 and modify m garage to fit the boat in. I mean adding the 3 or four feet to the back.

I could not even think of keeping a boat outside. That would be a deal breaker for me.
