Can anyone tell me how many people and what weight the 1700 osprey is rated for?

Are you talking about a new one? To be honest I haven't heard squat about Tuffy for quite some time.

Friend of mine had a 1700 Osprey tiller of same vintage that I fished out of several times. I believe the boat is rated for 60 HP. He was running it with a Merc 50 HP. I thought the boat was a nice fishing platform but was underpowered - took forever to get on plane and overall performed poorly with just two on board. Even with a 60 I doubt the would perform any better if you have 3 in the boat.

The Renegade was not bad with a 60, but the Osprey re-distributed weight and was much slower to plane.

I ran a 1700 for a season. Great boat. BUT, no matter what it says, it's a 3 person boat.

I have one (2007 console) and agree. Plus you really would want the rear deck extension if it doesn't have one.

OP just asked for capacities, not reviews.
