Wondering if any one on here has tried ceramic waxing there boat. How has it worked for you and was it worth it?

| I run a small part time Detail Service. I have never used Ceramic Wax as I just dont have a customer base who wants to invest in it. But it is top of the line and offers the most protection. It is semi-permanent and wont come off unless its abraded.
I haven't looked to much into the cost of it or proper ways to apply. But I am sure like any product there our cheap ceramics and expensive ceramics. But I know a lot of detailers who use the product and it is the best form of protection. |

Ryan, Right now I am using Mezerna, Malco, Meguiars and Griots products for compounds, polishes and waxes. I have a few products by Adams but dont use them a lot. Like I said in my post. I run a part time detail service and I have not got into Ceramics yet. It has peaked my interest on numerous occasions because of everything I have heard about Ceramic Coatings.
I currently haven't gotten into the Marine world of detailing as I only detail part time and enjoy Exterior and Interior work on cars and just don't feel I have the time to start Marine work. |

Also. If your going to Ceramic coat your boat I would just shell out the money for the higher end Ceramics and not buy some cheap store bought spray on wipe off stuff. If that's the case you mine as well just apply wax to it. That's just my humble opinion on doing a ceramic coating.
Also to address your original question. I am very curious myself to see how well it holds up on boats and being in the water constantly. I will talk to a buddy of mine and if he has an expert opinion on it I will shoot ya message and let ya know. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | As I said I have used it on my Lund for the last couple years. It does exactly what it is advertised to do. Water sheds right off, less dust and road mess, less rain spotting, and an incredible mirror like shine. I touch it up every couple months, not because I need to but because it's so easy. I wash the boat with the nano coat wash as well. My truck, too, it's a 2007 and looks great. WAY less effort to make your ride spiffy.
It's ain't cheap store bought stuff, it's expensive, but at the end of the day I get a year and a half out of a $40 bottle and my ride gleams, not sure what else I would want. That said, if there was a detail shop near me where I could get a complete vinyl, carpet and exterior care package done once a year, I'd do it in a minute. |

Location: Roscoe IL | anyone close to the wisconsin illinois border, i have a friend with a shop that specilizes in ceramic coating, he did my duramax highcounty when new (2018) and its still amazing every time i wash it, and he has done plenty of boats, bikes, snowmobiles etc. His prices are beyond resonable. Feel free to contract me and i can point you in the right direction. Located north of rockford near roscoe IL. He will be doing a full correction and ceramic on my 96 stratos 219 this year.

| I've used Meguiars Hybrid ceramic for the past two seasons on my Ranger and on my truck. While not as durable as a true, detailer applied product, this stuff is the best 'wax' I've ever used. My only complaint is that I have to use a detail spray to wipe the boat down after pulling out of the water because it all sheets off and the boat is dry. It doesn't turn plastic/rubber white, it's simple to apply and doesn't haze. |

Ceramic Coatings do work on vinyl wraps. However there may be some surface prep steps that you would want to take before apply the ceramic coating |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | If you ceramic coat over imperfections, they are not going to be masked by a coating. A polisher is used to prep paint or glass for a coating, not to apply a ceramic coating. Chicago Auto Pros on YouTube have a lot of relevant information on coatings and prep. Most importantly, coat a clean surface. Alcohol prep wiping is a must. Look for one with a 9h hardness if you want the best consumer grade product. |
