Assuming canada border may not open again next summer, so looking at minnesota. Typically 8-10 men for 1 week fishing trip in july. Would you recommend Bemidji area, detroit lakes area, or leech lake area? Not looking for spots just trying to narrow down an area
thx

Yes. You can find a great place and multiple lakes in all three areas. The days of being one of only a few muskie fisherman on any given lake are gone. Can't avoid pressure. But with two or three boats, and a week of fishing, you'll figure something out and catch a few fish.

Well, you could stay on Cass and hit Leech and Bemidji too. You'd never have to drive more than 17 miles to launch on 3 great muskie lakes. Some smaller off the beaten path lakes here too.

I would come to the Angle and fish out of Young’s Bay Resort. There is a good population of muskies on the MN side of LOTW.

I would like big water to keep fishing new areas if needed. Leech/cass is my vote. Other than Canada have you destination fished?

Wondering if Canada won't open for those that have had the vaccine. Saw a story that said those who complete the two vaccinations will get some sort of certificate that they have done so.
Back when I was in my late teens, had to get a letter from my draft board that they were aware I was traveling to Canada to fish because Canada sometimes demanded that of draft age men entering from the USA.

border being open is 50/50 to me come July .. recreational tourism is last on the Canadian gov'ts list to reopen.. with any luck they will allow those of us who have had the vaccine across but most estimates for the healthy 20 to 60 yr olds to get it is july / aug at best?! gonna be close if you ask me...

The head of the FDA said today that by late February, early March the vaccine will be easy to get as the flu vaccine. I think that sounds very optimistic, but I really hope he is right.

I can see a new business venture opening: selling counterfeit vaccine certificates.
