Is there a Canadian hydrographic of Eagle Lake, and if so what is the map number? If not, what other paper maps are available?

Unless something has changed in the last year, the best map available for Eagle is the Fishing Hot Spots. There is no hydrographic map for Eagle. Not to hijack this thread, but I saw on another site that Lakemaster was coming out with a Ontario V2 chip. I wonder if by chance Eagle would be better/more accurately mapped (contours) on the V2 version?

Just a word of caution. In my opinion the fishing hot spots map of eagle does not have the detail of a Canadian hydrographic map for specific sections of lake of the woods. Entire reefs both below and above water are missing on hot spots map. A solution is to have the resort owner mark the hot spots map for areas to avoid or swing wide of.

The map card I used 2 years ago had the depth in 10 ft. increments.( can't recall what map card) What are the increments on the navionics card?

That is a scary lake to run. Lots of stuff left off of the chips...big stuff! But still better to have a chip and paper map and have the lodge owner draw on your paper one.

I've been using a 15+ year old Garmin Inland Lakes map for our trips on Eagle, and it's never let me down (except for one time when I wasn't paying attention to my handheld GPS). I'll second (or whatever we are up to) the Hot Spots map, it's been great too.

Fishing Hot Spots Map, the latest Lakemaster chip, and my waypoints, and I still find new (to me) rocks every year - but it is worth it. Cal, Herbie, and many others have shared their knowledge with me. Hire a guide. Ask the resort owner. Take your time and have fun.
