A client was telling me that he uses a Cobra dash cam for recording his fishing adventures. They plug into a cig lighter, and record over themselves, or you can save a recorded segment. Not waterproof of course.

I have a couple of GoPros, but don't like spending time on cards and batteries.

Has anyone tried this?

I use a dash cam aslo, it works really good. I mount it to
My navigation light pole. And run the wires down to the battery.

What gopro models do you have? Quite a few models have looping feature and they all can be plugged into a charger while recording. Not sure what a dashcam could do that a gopro can't.

Many dash cams are going to be less expensive than a GoPro and some will even record 2-angles 180 degrees opposite of one another, additionally many have IR lights for recording at night.
