So im thinking of getting myself the 9 foot 6 assault stick shock and awe. The rod will mostly be used for 23 ounce mammoth curly sues and 24 ounce line thru trouts, with the occasional 29 ounce 2 pounder bulldawg also being used.

Has anyone here used this rod for this application?

What how well did the rod perform?

Does the 24 ounce casting weight rating seem realistic or is it overestimated/underestimated?

Cheers for any info!

Big fan of chaos rods. I have 6 of them including the one you are considering. The 9'6" shock and awe is great for huge bucktails and large plastics. The tip is soft enough to throw bucktails a good distance and there is enough backbone to cast larger plastics. That said, for a dedicated huge rubber rod of throwing nothing but 20oz plus rubber baits there are better rods IMO. It would do the job, but a rod with a stiffer tip would be better.
