Posts: 6995 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | We all search so hard for the "next secret weapon" or tactic to catch fishes, but what are some forgotten lures from days gone by or tactics YOU think should get more attention? Personally, I think twitching cranks (divers or flat sided) gets sidelined too often! Give me a husky sized Cisco Kid versus waters over about 7' deep and I'm confident I can get something going.

Posts: 574 Location: Elk Grove Village, IL & Phillips, WI | I'll second the Mepps Giant Killer. My son has been racking up some nice high-40 inch fish with it the last few years. Biggest being a 49.5.

Posts: 20173 Location: oswego, il | Agressive rips with twitch and jerkbaits. Speed and pause kill. It's work and few are willing to commit very long. Most stay with their comfort food tactics. Edited by ToddM 6/6/2019 1:55 PM

Posts: 357 | spinner baits. surprising how many people don't own any and have never used them. don't need any specialized equipment, can cast all day or troll, all times of the year, cover any water depth, and all kinds of fish like them.

I'll tell you for me I love the suick thrillers in 10 inch...I picked up their new frankensuick too I'll give it a try when the water warms. I also enjoy throwing suicks wabull that's my favorite glide bait....As far as trolling is concerned I'm a big fan of spoonplugging. I read Buck Perry's book many years ago and I have used some of his pointers trolling muskie and I have had great success.

Posts: 1275 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | Frog colored hand grenades! Still have to find the fish though. Seriously, the Giant Killer comments above ring a good bell with me. Got one of my giants on one. Suicks too, are not used like they used to be. Get one that has "it" and you will score plenty. So many new baits lately, it is almost impossible to keep up with the, but ya gotta love those Beaver videos!

Posts: 584 Location: Duluth | Giant Storm Flatstick fished like a husky jerk. Doing an experiment this year where I throw Spinner all season instead of bucktails. Expect my hook up and fish caught to be about the same, but want to see if theres any difference.

Posts: 1964 | Bondy - 6/6/2019 9:05 PM Deep 110% deep! I intentionally fish deeper than the masses most of the tine...The original bondy on lakes has put multiple 48”+ fish in my boat. Getting baits deeper than 10 feet saves many days/weeks for me... I absolutelylove a topwater bite and have 100+ top water baits..but the time I throw them shrinks every year... conditions (including angling pressure) need to be right... or you should be fishing deep
