This is going to be me and my younger brothers 3rd trip to St. germain area trying to catch our first Muskie. Last year was pretty tuff on Big Saint, we fished 7 days only had 3 follows one of those a taker but my brother got a little excited and didn’t set the hook. Anyways this year is going to be on lost lake and seems to be like it’s a little easier Fisherie than big and little saint. We will be going for a week in mid to late August and was wondering if there were any pointers anyone could give me or steer me in the right direction. Thank you all, this forum has helped me a lot through this journey.

I've only fished this lake a couple of times in the fall but had action both times so I think you'll definitely have some action. I caught a nice 43" there last fall by the midlake bar. Not a tough lake to figure out especially if u give it a full week. There are some nice ones in that lake for sure. Another good lake in the area that u may want to try if u get bored with Lost is Found lake. There are decent numbers in that lake as well. It's only 5-10 minutes down the road. Good Luck!

Just to make sure you know, Aug 16-18 is the National Championship Musky Open tournament. Both Lost and Found are tournament waters so you will have company if you're fishing that weekend. That being said you may want to consider fishing the tournament. It'll give you a chance to talk to other anglers and find out what is working locally at the time, and the door prize is a Ranger boat! It's a pride tournament (no payout, just glory and a trophy) put on by the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin.

We will be going the 20th to 27th I believe. I witnessed this tournament last year and boy was the lake packed. It seemed to really turn the fish off with how many people were on big saint...

I have fished Lost Lake for 20 years. My best friend used to have a cabin on the south end of the lake. PM me and I'll share some of the best places to catch a big one. Randy

I've been going up to Lost lake the past 2 years in late August and will be going again this year. I sent you an email Randy about the map. I've had a coupe follows and caught some small pike but no Musky yet.

Not much structure, lots of weeds but I can't seem to figure it out. Plenty of time put in and I don't have a fish there yet. A map won't help too much since other than the midlake bar theres just a few points or bays, and you can cover it all in a full day.

There was a chemical weedkill in 2018 which destroyed a lot of weedgrowth through the whole lake, who knows if they'll do it again but I hope not. I think it was aimed at some nasty invasive stuff near the SW outlet.
