Have caught musky on dead suckers before, but thought this was interesting:

Interesting, but I have lost the sucker on the hook set or while fighting the fish.

I would tie a separate leader to this thing so that it's not lost with the sucker.

Probably actually the best use for it, TBH.

Way to bring the rope to your own hanging.

HA! thanks much for the insight, very cool idea and prob. definatly better than a deadbait and prob very effective as it is displayed in saltwater. would prob get a positive reaction and bite with muskies and pike ....eventually...., however it is undeniable muskies love and prefer the natural vibs and fleeing action of a LIVE bait that is full of vitality gives off vs a weak just coasting along or dead bait. the scared #*#*less vibs they give off when it knows its about to be eaten or a ski is messing with it is the natural predator instinct trigger. would be fun to try side by side though to see..matter of fact since i seen this i will be!! let you know. what id really like to try it on is ice fishing pike with nice stinky deadbait...i guess it needs to be or will be dead anyway if you shove it down its throat.
i can only imagine it would work well under those circumstances, those shown on the video trolling dead or dying baits, and probably many more.
