Hey Fellas. Just booked up a trip to Cedar this morning. I hear a lot of talk that this lake is over pressured but it’s on the bucket list and we’re going to give it a try. We’re headed up last week of July into August. Just wondering if anyone has been up around that time and if there is anything we should look out for or do to up our odds at a Cedar Musky. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Did you put the stamp on the deposit envelope yet? There’s still time to go to the place across the street...

We had a group fish cedar last summer. I’d say it’s “ok”. Fished small compared to lotw. Saw a decent amount of fish. We did get a 49, but didn’t see many big fish. If you pm me, I can give you a couple great spots where we caught and saw many fish. Good luck!

Be the first boat to Hatfield Bay in the morning, and you'll see some muskies. Might even see them laying on the bottom if it's calm. If not, we always had okay luck on the main lake structures. You might have to ask the walleye wagon train's permission to pass, though.

Yes, it's crowded. On the plus side, it's easy to navigate and there are little/no unmarked hazards to worry about. FWIW it is the only lake I've been checked by water patrol for a license.

If that’s a bucket list water, you need a better list.
