| Here's a bait I originally made to be a slow rising crank/jerkbait. To that effect, it worked well, had good action & thump and caught fish (the best action I can get is my priority and I'll usually go through several prototypes dialing it in before pretty-ing up a bait).
I carved the original out of wood and made a mold so reproductions could be poured with resin.
A while back I had a "happy accident" when I was pouring a few of these and strayed from my recipe, doubling the amount of micro-balloons in the mix. It was too late at that point to change so I poured it anyway and finished the bait as normal with the same weight scheme and lip as the slow risers. Holy cow was I surprised at what this bait does with the much lighter resin mix. I knew the rise would be faster but wasn't prepared for the overall difference in the baits behavior.
It ended up by shear luck having just barely enough weight to keep the bait from blowing out making this thing just super squirrely in the way it comes through the water doing everything except rolling over. It randomly digs or hunts while almost 90 degrees on it's side then to a hard crankbait action or hunting on it's other side or weird wobbles. It's just strange and unpredictable and catches better than the original design. As a jerk or twitchbait it does the same sort of stuff but if you include slack line it'll sometimes act like a glider or turn almost 180.
I don't make the slow rise version any more.
This example was a bit hastily painted but accurately matches the perch that come out of my dirty water home lake. I could've used a better eye on it but I didn't feel like making any and used what I had laying around that would fit the socket.
Darn musky put tooth marks in the top of the bait on it's maiden voyage, I couldn't wait until the epoxy was completely cured...

| look really nice,you got obvious talent.imo other than cedar nothing beat urethane for cranks.all the baits made by boyer is a good example.all his lineup like perchbait,plow,outast got premium action.resine shine more for glidebait imo. i guess if you add lots of microballon it could look a lil bit like urethane or cedar density . did you got vids of his action ? |

| Reef Hawg, it does swim similar to a Crane 207 but with a bit wider wobble and some weird unpredictable moves when straight reeling at higher speeds, just about the same rise speed as a Crane which I would characterize as fast. It gets wild with rips, pulls or twitched on slack line.
Super - it is a urethane resin, the amount of microballons I also have in the mix puts the finished density between cedar and balsa |

| Sorry Supertrollr, I generally don't sell my baits. I trade for stuff every once & awhile but mostly I post as a way to share & somehow repay a bit of the learning I've gleaned from the site.
