looking to swap out the hooks on my 6" Phantoms. what 2/0 hooks do you's trust and recommend and wont affect the action of the bait? stock hooks are okay, but dull out quick and bend fairly easily. Thanks.

I think I put a 4/0 vmc on my 6" phantom doesnt mess with action and they don't tangle. I usually up size hooks on most of my jerks and gliders

Unless something has changed the hooks on there are Mustad #35656br 2/0 Round Bends. Thorne Brothers has them $9.99 for 25.

I like Owner Cutting point trebles as they are much sharper than most hooks and the cutting point penetrates bony mouths better. Just my 2 cents.

Check out the Chaos hooks. They are probably the best hooks I have ever seen in the musky world. He usually has them at the musky shows too if you can get to one.

Owners are the main replacement hook I use. As for effecting action won't know for sure until You try it, "some trial and error here". I switch out hooks on all jerk - glide baits. These baits are easier to miss a hit on at times because the fish often bites on the pause. Sometimes going up or down a size depends on the replacement hook size and weight compared to the hooks it came with. I keep a selection of ST-66, ST-68 and ST-76 Owner trebles so I find the hook that's the right size, length and weight for a bait.

I use Vmc 3/0 short shank hooks on my 6” phantoms. If I’m in a pinch the regular mustad 3551 4/0 hooks do not affect performance at all
