Does it really have a start date or is it like a dance floor where everyone is standing around waiting for the first couple to go out? Should there be one? When should it be? I was thinking it should start the day after a closed season but that can be from Nov 30 to never. I propose that is should start on December 1st the end of the northern Wisconsin musky season. It's more of a historical end to the season and since everyone except a south direction would say there are no big fish there:-) can we give them that? Make it is a bit like when it is ok to where white shoes and belts. Should there be a kickoff date?

I always thought it was you that got it started Todd....Like Santa Claus swooping in and bringing Winternet with him.

I'd agree with Todd that it starts the moment the season closes for Minnesota and Northern WI. But that's like the official calendar date that doesn't hold much meaning. Just like how Winter technically starts the 21st of December.

I say start it now. Can kick it off with any of the following:

1.) What is considered a good week of fishing on LOTW?
2.) What is the true world record musky?
3.) Is the Garmin Panoptix a game changer on the BOW you fish?
4.) What will beer prices be at the Chicago show?
5.) Who has the best Youtube musky channel?

I think that Sworral should kick it off with posts of fish pics and we all start guessing size and weight, and watch it turn into a shouting match of bad holds, bump boards, camera angles, how messy the boat looks, and fun things like that. Like Festivus! where you lay out all your grievances.

Aw heck... Lets get the party started...

Louis spray was the best musky fisherman...period!!...and the only body of water that can hold a true world record musky is the flowage!!

The Spray fish are the biggest frauds of all time, and Louis wasn't much of a fisherman after reading he bought a lot of his "catches".

Weather trumps all,,,the early cold fall made the "shouldn't close the season Dec 1st" debate not ever gain momentum.

Possible tidbits
What bait will people stand in line for for 2hrs at shows.

Minnesota dnr won't have enough fish for their stocking quota this year with the late spring.

Are $100 plus dive and rise baits worth it.

People who bought places on leech now have the last laugh.

Mike McCarthy.

The Chicago muskie show is never good enough even if Steven Spielberg or Steve Wynn ran it and it was held on cloud 9.

The muskiefirst outing should switch to tarpon in Florida with Hammernick and Ben Olson because there's guaranteed good weather.

That's super weak sauce.. try some of these:

-Wisconsin = small fish heaven.
-If you're not fishing trophy water, you don't matter.
-Folbes suck and Scotty rod holders are certifiable fruggin trash
- You must use down east saltys, they are the best by a lot.
- if you don't leash your rods on the troll, you are a backwater hillbilly that probably clubs muskies and throws cig butts over the side.

I’m looking forward to an in-depth discussion on gear ratios, spool diameter, line capacity, and inches per turn as they relate to ease and speed of retrieve. And finally an answer to the age old question of whether a Tranx PG or HG is the absolute best choice.

Nobody is ever really talking about inches per turn, they are really talking about the only thing that matters, inches per crank.

What if they stocked Leech Lake strain fish in a WI lake? How much does a 50" fish weigh? Anyone know where the next world record might be? Oh... and how thick is the ice on Upper Red Lake?

What about this whole “Overweight dudes” thing? I’m thinking if you swapped the venue between a musky expo and an Overeaters Anonymous convention, the folks inside would look pretty much the same. So, WTF is that. I’m getting two knees this winter I wore out standing in line at the KFC buffet whilst they swapped out the hog feeders. I’m needing an explanation for why everyone here is a blob, not whether TranX is a really stupid name for a fishing reel. That’s it, I’m ready to downsize my presentation for 2019.
