Found an unopened package of 130# flouro in my fishing room that I bought God-only-knows when. Does fluorocarbon degrade over time like Mono does?

I think it's higher shelf life than mono. I don't think it breaks down in UV light. I saw somewhere that Seaguar said like 7 to 8 years.

I would use it. Was it stored inside out of direct sunlight?

No. Fluorocarbon is not affected by fluorescent lighting or other forms of UV rays. There is no real expiration date on pure Fluorocarbon line.

Good question!
I would try it and if it breaks on that 55 incher we know it'll probably have a shelf life

Hook some up to a heavy scale and see how much pull it takes to break it or even better not being able to break it.
