| Finally got around to buying and installing a new Terrova and Ipilot.
Wow. What a game changer.

I fish with my kids a lot in the spring. Dragging 4 or 6 lines trolling for walleyes/salmon/trout. The I pilot enables the boat to steer itself, which allows me to clear lines and net fish. |

I just couldn’t justify the extra cost for some handy features and the map chip is not very detailed for most Canadian links.

I just couldn’t justify the extra cost for some handy features and the map chip is not very detailed for most Canadian links.
Just an FYI - Link works with autochart data (from humminbird) as well so even if the LakeMaster map for that lake is poor (or there isn't one) you could autochart your main troll passes and still use follow the contour. Granted it likely adds another $150 - $200 since you'll probably need a zero lines card as well, but it still can be of use. But I agree - $800 for the link + $250 for a hub really does add up for not THAT much added functionality.
I've been thinking about adding link to my 2017 terrova - One thing I would really like is in addition to the boat heading on the graph you also get a trolling motor 'heading'. There have been times when trying to troll with the family and someone ALWAYS has to be in the front of the boat messing around because they're bored and then I can't see the direction that the trolling motor is pointing in without getting up or constantly asking them to move. *shrug*

| i've had i-pilot terrova since 2011 ( still same one with diy brushes+some parts ) and now with autochart i wish i got I-LINK

| i bougth it in jan 2011 and put it on my 14,5 tin boat with the future boat in mind and was really happy with it . one spring 6 years later first day hit a stump and it stopped ! back home i disassembled and found the brushes stuck off the armature and could have just cleaned it but since open i replaced brushes+springs !cheap parts too ! everything was almost like new inside , it is still running perfect . |

I got a new one in 2013. The speed of the turn, power and reliability are amazing. I have had no issues with mine and I beat the crap out of it. The remote is nice but I don't use it while casting. The foot pedal is laid out nicely but I can thin of some improvements. I could never go back to a power drive. |

Regular terrova ipilot is great. I don't care for ipilot link but that's personal preference. Ipilot comes with the remote and has GPS built in so you can hit spot lock and be held in one position. It's nice for unhooking fish in the wind or current, especially at night. And yes, it deploys very easily. |

| The spotlock alone is worth the money. It holds u within 5' of your spot and is smooth in readjusting. I have spotlocked for an hour and it held as good as a double anchor setup |
