Posts: 253 | So i cant seem to get my shallow monster medussas to swim properley, they end up rolling too often for my liking. I know that the obvious solution would be to add some weights to the bottom of the lure but that would result in a lure that would sink too fast, not the best thing for someone stuck with fishing from the shore above shallow weed beds Anyone found a solution that worked?

Posts: 1077 Location: Anoka | Have you tried bending the internal wire harness ta tune them? Might need a twist or a tweak here N there. Spencer Bermen talked about doin this in a muskie hunter article if memory serves. You could try searchin their online archive or give it a go yerself.

Posts: 72 | twisting and turning the harness is the only thing i would know to do. i usually bend the head the opposite direction of how it is rolling

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Last resort if it can't be tuned is to dunk the tails into near boiling water for about 20 seconds. Hang the bait nose up until it cools and this should solve the problem. When hanging make sure the two horizontal tails are hanging opposite each other.

Posts: 1023 | It softens the tails so they move easier and affect the bait stability less.

Posts: 3136 | Most shallow model rubbers usually have to be retrieved slower then weighted models, if your looking to move it fast.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | For all shallow rubber swimbaits you have to remember they are shallow because most of the weight was removed form the harness.... That was also the ballast weight keeping the bait upright. You can work it slow and that will work or work it fast and let it roll. The musky don't care. Other ideas above will also work to some extent but you will still not be able to work it too fast or it will roll.
