75 degrees and falling as a storm front moves in to break a week long spell of warm sunny weather. Wind changing

I like a steady SW wind during the summer months, preferably one that's been stable for a few days. From there, any sort of frontal system, change in wind direction, change in barometer, etc. is golden.

Late fall, a steady cool down with a N/NW wind. Warn fronts are great to fish in as far as comfort, but it just kills the fishing if the water temps start to climb back up.

60-70 degree air temperatures, 5-10 mph wind speed out of the west, and as little humidity as possible is good.

What I really enjoy is fishing in -5 degree air temps, 20 mph winds, and snow while wading in a river with a hole in my waders.

Rapidly darkened sky, thunder getting louder, spikes on far side of lake...and a taller partner with really long rod!

I like a cloudy day, wind 10-20 mph from the West or South. In saying that, 2 of my biggest fish were caught on pretty calm sunny days, so I tend to fish harder on those days, but if it is cloudy with some wind, possible chance of storms moving into the area, that is ideal for me.

Temp 50's to 70's. Mix sun and clouds, perhaps leaning with more clouds than sun. As for wind if it's over 10 mph I'm done. Too old for all that, but a little chop can't hurt.

My 4 biggest fish came on days with not a fart of wind and not a cloud in the sky

Storm with clouds that look like they're on fire as they roll into downtown Walker while i'm in portage bay throwin a Ghosttail along the never ending tiered cabbage beds and a tornado drops down and turns snow white as it hits Walker bay and all the hair on my body stands up as soon as it does. Oh man.. the memories!

There was an artlicle written by Pete Maina called sunny day monsters. I bet you didn't have much action but those were the ones that ate.

My biggest fish were all around 1:00 pm on stupid-hot flat humid days. I don't think we saw more than one or two other fish all day long.

That said, I'd rather catch small fish or no fish at all and be out on a really nice day than catch a nice one and have to bake in the sun on a 95 degree day. Unless we're talking 40#....
