Posts: 330 Location: SE Wisc | Just a few weeks ago there was ice on the lakes and everyone was taking about ice fishing opening weekend and blah, blah, blah. This goes to show how quickly things can change and how much people forget from one year to the next.

Yes, things can change rapidly when it comes to weather, but how often do you see the extremes we have seen in the last two months? Rhinelander had the coldest day ever in April at -2 and today will be the hottest day ever in May at 93, if MSN.com weather is correct. That is pretty wild, no matter how you slice it.

Posts: 330 Location: SE Wisc | How often do you ever get “average” temperatures for any day let alone month? We’ve been recording temperatures for only like 125 years, so what is average anyway. That’s like a grain of sand on a large beach comparing that to the age of earth.

I was out on the lake where I live the last two days, shallow, dark chain and saw 75 to 76.5 on both the fishing boat and pontoon. Surprised some of the clear lakes are that warm. And I was in the water myself and it is much cooler a foot or two down. Not freezing by any means, but cooler.
