I am primarily fishing in stained water (about 2 feet of visibility) in a heavily pressured lake (mostly by bass fisherman) with the primary forage being gizzard shad, yellow perch, and panfish. I have a decent selection of bucktails and was wondering which ones I should use when. To my understanding, the black skirt orange blade, pink and yellow bladed one, detonator (13/10 with copper blades), mayhem jr 4 (the quadruple bladed one), and black skirt with black blades would be the best bet for my typical fishing scenarios because darker colors and painted/darker metallic blades work better in stained water and bigger/staggered blades provide more vibration to fish in low-visibility conditions and pressured conditions. There's just so much information and I'm not sure what I should use when.

As Mr. Ramsell told me once: "The muskies make all the rules, and they ain't talking!"
Any one of those will get you a fish at the right time and place. You just need to find that fish. m

When all else fails throw a small Mepps #5 or the small size Musky Killer or Giant Killer. Experiment with colors.

From what I read in your post you already have a good idea as far as color and lure choices go. The only thing I would add is use the bait that would throw off the most vibration because in stained water I think sound is more important than color. Keep in mind to pick out a lure color to make it easier for you to see instead of the fish. In this way, as the bait approaches, you might be able to spot a follower. Kdawg

Lure color really matters the least when considering all factors. Throw them all until you get confidence in some of them.

Agreed on the blacks, fluorescents, golds in really stained water (but I'm sure silver can produce too). On pressured water I've had luck downsizing and maybe throwing stuff that less people are throwing.
