Location: Bloomington, MN | Thank you Mr. Ramsell! The Curtis, Peason, Fudally, Bucher, and Worrall fish made my friends run there many moons ago. They probably are still there, but the 35"'s eat your bait first. Wabigoon is a bring 3 extra props sort of lake. Lots of fish with some dandies, but an ugly cess pool.

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | Thanks all for the comments. A fun project with a lot of help from Brent.
ClarkA, Wabigoon is NOT a "cesspool", but rather a lake with a LOT of clay areas that have "washed" by wave action and created a lake with TONS of suspended clay, inhibiting clarity. Interestingly, because of this the "conductivity" of the lake is very high; about 4 times higher than Eagle Lake. When I did radio tracking of muskie there I didn't even need an antenna for the receiver.
One good thing about the turbidity is that the weeds don't grow very deep, and giants are found shallow because of it. |
