Focusing on the "Core" lakes seems like a reasonable enough strategy for controlling pressure. Wish they would continue to add a lake or two here and there to the plan.
Early on in the discussions for this plan, it was decided not to preclude adding new water, but it would be unlikely for the next 6, 7,8, years or more, due to lack of fish to stock (current needs are hard enough to achieve), and any backlash that may still exist from the last batch of lakes added. If at some point late in this 10 year plan, we are meeting our current stocking levels, easily, and the new hatchery is working as designed, the plan does allow for adding lakes. If adding lakes were specifically in the plan, there would be pressure to do it, even if it was at the expense of current stocking efforts. This plan is more about re-building what we had, before expanding.
