Really nice, simple tutorial in the News section of MF on trolling motor maintenance. Nothing new perhaps but well done and easy to follow. When I bought a new Ulterra last season, the installer stressed the importance of removing the prop and checking for fishing line/weeds on a regular basis. Having spent a lot of money on the unit, did what he said and was surprised that on at least three occasions, had fishing line wrapped around the shaft. I rarely hook floating line on the chain where I live, but it clearly is there. The video also reminded me to buy some pins to keep on hand in case I snap one hitting something. Not sure why I can't remember that one.

I went through the list on my Ultrex and found line on the prop shaft.

These are good tips and a great reminder for doing an annual check on our trolling motors. I regularly find line after checking with prop off. Usually after having my grandsons out.
