Im just curious, got my first boat it cruises real nice @ 38-40mph on the GPS @ 4,000 rpm. Seems like most lakes in wisconsin that will get me where i need to go pretty quick. Do you guys get in an run her wide out to your spot ? or just find a sweet spot and cruise.

I could run wide open, or turn 4500 rpm, get a nice ride, burn half the gas, and only go 8 m.p.h. slower.

Hiya,

I'm right around 4000 rpms or so while running between spots. Most lakes that is fast enough. I will open it up from time to time just to enjoy it. I've only felt like I had to use my rig full throttle to try and outrun a storm (feeble attempt, though) that came up fast on Lake of the woods around 10 years ago.

A lot of the time 4200rpm at 45 mph, sometimes 75mph just depends

I usually just get it up on the plane and about 3000 RPM about 25 mile an hour and it runs very smoothly from spot to spot. It will run 52 at 6000 rpm.

Yep, I would rather cruise comfortable in that 20-25mph range. I don't anything to prove to total strangers or my boat partner.

I usually cruise around 26-28. Not sure why, that speed just feels comfortable to me.

Depends on the lake and what I want to do.
I tend to cruise in that 33-35mph range. It's a nice ride.
Sometimes wind keeps me more in that 24 mph range as I'm trying to navigate in big waves.
But yah, I don't go wide open too often at all. When I do, I can pretty much watch the gas gauge go down.

Usually 3800-4000 rpms going 27-30mph. I’d rather conserve my fuel, plus my 1750 prolly ain’t gonna win any races anyway.

Run my 1760 tiller around 4100 to 4500 most of the time which is around 21 to 24 or 25 mph. Good enough even for covering some fair ground on LOTW. Every now and then run it about 5000 rpm at about 28. Sometimes that actually seems to cut certain chop better. Don't usually run it that lomg like that though. Sometimes I'll run it wide open for a minute just to see if it still hits 33 with the 4 blade prop lol.

Boat will do 60.. getting old and the pro Xs uses a lot of oil at wot.. most of the time 40-42mph seams like good cruising speed... previous boat was a bass boat with a hot foot, anything under 55 didn’t seam right.. it could hit low 70’s on gps

20-25mph is comfy and covers the water fast enough. I fish small inland lakes. Rarely ever in a hurry to go much faster. I don't have a big boat with a big motor though either...

As fast as the water will allow me to operate safely. Let'er eat! That's why I bought this much motor.

- Disclaimer - Suspension seats are a must. If you don't have them your Kindeys will be punching you from the inside.

Make sure to attach your kill switch to!

With 'following seas' I can get abt 12 mph outta my 9.9- powered 1978 BassTracker; quite a change from the 70+ on the old Gambler! I've got more fish outta the 'Tracker, tho. m

All depends I guess. It's a new toy so I'm still playing with it.

Top speed in my slow tub is 32 mph. I usually run 27-29. Feel like I’m rowing out there.

Wide open a lot. But I only have a 60 hp, so 32-34 depending on the load in the boat.

Depends on the weather, usually 50-60mph, rather not waste time driving the boat. If it's cold/rainey it's as slow as it'll stay on plane.

When I was boat shopping I was concerned about top end speed and whether I would regret not getting max HP. After 3 years, I have realized that the majority of my driving is around 30 mi/hr. It's comfortable and I am rarely in a rush. While making longer runs on Lake Michigan I will open her up especially if it is calm.

I enjoy running about 35mpg give or take. Cover plenty of water fast and not killing you on fuel. I know when you cruise 50mph plus my Merc 200 gets really thirsty!! To the tune of about 1.2mpg I believe!!
