Hey gang, MuskieMedic is back! Took an extended leave, my back is near 100% after my last fusion a few years ago. Hopefully I'll be able to report more and plan on catching up with everyone. Fished a 1000 acre fairly clear sandy lake just outside Hayward the past two days. Fish were active mid day yesterday, boated a 30's tiger and a bonus 30's pike the very next cast. Missed a mid 40's fatty about 5 minutes prior to the tiger, took a good swipe on the first go round of my figure 8 and only got rubber tail in its mouth. Had several other follows and short hitters, and boated several other pike, so did my wife. All my action came burning bucktails, chartreuse nlade/pur tail Slippery Sam and a nickel/white Buchertail. Most of the action came over the deepest cabbage in 7-8 feet. Today was tougher, only several pike, lost about a 30 muskie on a orange/white Funky Chicken. Wife and I boated several pike again though all were smaller than yesterday. Water temps 72-74.

Good to see/hear from you medic. Kbob told me you were up there when we were up at dads cabin in stone Lake. Pretty tiger. Great trip for us, and even though we only fished muskies a bit, boated a couple good ones, many bass and enough panners for a couple meals. Take care.

I am pretty sure we are all born that way. Call it corrective surgery.

hey MuskieMedic! when is the next report!?!? or predictions??? the weather is looking great for my trip 9/17-9/20.

also, we always like to get one good steak dinner up there. we've bounced around from supper club to supper club. talley ho, chip inn, lost land lake lodge. they all seem great for a few years and then we get skunked on quality and service 2 years in a row. at that point we switch up and try somewhere else. any other good options you recommend???

i heard talley ho changed owners a year or few back. wondering if they are back up to snuff.

We have a place on Spider Lake chain and our favorite supper club is always the Ranch just at the edge of town. Always great service and great food.

Tally Ho has just recently opened after being closed quite a long time. Club 77 just recently reopened as Tavern at White Stag Farm as well. Haven't gotten a chance to visit either of them yet.

We are up at the tip of the chain on North Lake but wife's family has spent years staying at all the old resorts throughout the chain. Indian Head and Musky Run and Pinecrest and Timber Bay. Son caught his first fish ever in Little Spider and all his Musky in the chain including a hybrid.
