Hey Fellas. I’m heading to the Chippewa county area for the first time for a long weekend coming up. Looking at lakes like Long, potato,Island, Wissota etc. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on a lake that I should really target. Perhaps one with a little less pleasure boat traffic. Not looking for secrets. Perhaps just a hey that lake is great kind of thing. I’m pretty familiar with the eagle river-three lakes area if you wanted to swap stories. Thanks

If you are there on a weekend boat traffic is pretty crazy on all the lakes in the area.

If you aren’t totally set on bringing a boat there are tons of shore/wade fishing opportunities on the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers. I’m not much of a musky fisherman and in two trips I’ve managed a pair of nice fish 5 misses and 1 lost fish. Almost no pressure on a lot of spots and definitely no recreational traffic.
