Random quote: Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

Many moons ago I was heavy into surf fishing for stripers and building old school plugs for it, a lot of those plugs make the transition into muskie fishing quite well by the way.

2 such plugs are the Danny bait and the Surfster. When I first got heavy into muskies I used those 2 baits quite a bit and thought why not turn one into a flaptail - so I did and have used this style flaptail for a long time. Basically its an enlarged Danny style body with a surfster lip. The lip makes the front dig just a little bit like a wake bait would and raises the rear of the plug where the flaptail is working it's magic. It has a bit more aggressive action than a traditional flaptail because the bait pivots on a central axis and also rolls causing the flaptail to swing around more aggressively on top.
I know the muskies like it on those calm summer evenings.

They look great! Should be awesome!
Anything a little different is always good on conditioned fish!

Thanks! I've been through a couple versions over the years with and without stinger hook wire and other modifications. This is the version I finally settled on and it does work well - I do tend to only throw it over places I absolutely know are holding fish though since it has to be fished so slow

Hi Zinox, I don't sell my baits, I do this for fun and so that me and a few buddies have tools no one else has. I will trade baits once in a while.

Supertrollr, that paint is just Createx opaque black with a bit of very fine pearl pigment mixed in.
