What should one expect? Pure magic? Pure despair?

My LOTW trip starts on a new moon.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that there is a direct correlation, but 2 of our better LOTW trips were in Aug 2012 and 2015, and both were the week following the new moon...

This year, we'll also be up there for the week following the new moon, so I'm going to say that it'll be pure magic!

For Musky-pike and walleye. Have had some good fishing around new moons (better than full) but I'd say for me it's one of the least important factors after weather, getting on top of baitfish, etc.

For sure, weather is usually the main thing I care about. One of these years I'm bound to have good weather.....
