Last summer I started playing around with making baits. I typically use a lot of softail stuff, tried a few dive and rise baits with them, but wanted to try my own. Here's a few I've put together the last month or so. I call them riverhawks.

Those really look great Steve. I'm sure you'll have a lot of success with them.

Really nice looking baits.

They seem to have a variety of shapes; did you hand carve those?

If yes, what kind of wood if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks. I intentionally did them in different shapes, especially the head/beak, width, etc. as I'm figuring out this new "sickness!" I used a little bandsaw from the high school woodshop I coach basketball at. (Last year I was carving by hand before I realized I could get into the shop.)

They are all made from cedar. I figure only five more years till I have this thing figured out ;o)

Sending 11 of them to the musky club over in Wisconsin Rapids as raffle prizes. Thanks reef hawg! Hopefully the "river hawk" gets gobbled up over there on the WI river!
