| It really does not mean they wont bite, they just seem to scatter and are not on predictable locations.
In fact I have caught some real goodins during turnover. I break out all the tricks, my favorite is a Pink Slammer Bill made for my wife... Red and Yellow seems to work good too. | |

| After the lake turns over, the water temps do not dictate the location of the fish at all, so forage seems, in my experience, to be THE key to location.
I fish mostly mide-meso lakes, so I key on rocks near deep water and the remaining green weeds. Reeds can be a hot pattern, as the perch like the sand this time of year, as can sand flats and breaklines.
Watch for perch, or panfish anglers, and where they are, so are the predators, at least when they are active. The rest of the time, they will be close by. | |
