Been looking for something decent for holographic paper for my lures. I came across some really awesome looking wrapping paper that's metallic holographic. It's awesome looking. Wondering how it would work on the side of a jake. I was thinking I could use spray adhesive to put it on. Then airbrush and seal it up.

Aaron, I have tried the spray adhesive before and had problems when the lure got hot in the summer with bubbling. I switched to 5 minute epoxy and have had no problems.

Thanks for the reply, John. So you use five minute epoxy as adhesive to put the paper onto the lure? How do you get it evenly spread onto the paper?

Aaron it takes a little work to get it smooth. As it starts to dry I will work it down with my fingers. There is about a 3 minute window where I can stretch the foil around a curve. Try it on a scrap pc of wood first. The process can get messy fast. Rubbing alcohol will help with the clean up. Try to keep the outside face as clean as possible. The top and bottom edge can be sanded after it dries for an hour.
The Jake sides are fairly smooth. It should work great.
Here is some of the holographic foil I got from the party store. I still had some wrinkles under it all. You can take a white pearl paint (createx) and lightly spray a scale pattern over the foil. This will help hide any wrinkles. I love how it changes color as the bait moves. I wish there was a way to heat shrink it to the body!

I've been using holographic paper that is adhesive backed and sold in sheets. I believe it is ductape brand and get it at a number of stores including menards and walmart.
