| how often do you replace your starter deep cycle batteries?
Mine has construction stamp of 2010/05 and has given me zero problems. I find 4 years is starting to get old (past 3yr warranty). Is it worth replacing just to be safe, not wanting to get stuck on the water... |

| Is up to you. If it does fail on the water you can use one of your trolling motor batteries to get you home, assuming you have a separate system.
There are a lot of variables in the life of a starter battery. How old is your car battery? |

| my car battery is from a january 2010 subaru so a little older but it see's much more use then the boat does...
How often do you change your starter battery? You wait for it to die and get home with trolling motor batteries? Are group_24 enough to start a 50hp 4stroke?

| I was just putting it in to perspective. I went 4 on my previous one and just replaced it last fall. Still works-used it in the fishhouse all winter. |

| I would replace it when it starts to struggle to get the outboard started. |

| If you have a dedicated cranking battery, I would recommend purchasing a battery for that purpose with higher CCA than most deep cycles used for a trolling motor. If you have one battery for all, get a dual purpose. Bit yes, I would say replacing once the warranty is up is not a bad plan Stan. |

| I run two systems seperately...
Is there a used market for these 'great condition' 4 year old batteries?
40-50$ ? Can it still serve someone as a trolling motor battery? What type of buyers are interested in these?

| Haha I'm sure you could sell it for that. Usually worth $10-15 as a core return to wherever you purchase a new one. In all honesty id charge it up and keep it as a spare in the back of the truck on trips. |

Location: Detroit River | I went 9 years on my AC Delco. It started my 35 HP 2-stroke for 5 years then my 25 HP 4-stroke for 4. Plus I ran my Lowrance & live well off of it.

06 mercury 60hp 4- stroke. Is the original battery from the dealer when purchased new in spring of 07. I guess it has 8 seasons on it now. |
