mauser-- Hope this helps , I fished the cave 3 days the past week , the 1st 2 were real good, I was on the lake the 2 days prior to tony g's big catch , last wed and thurs , the bite was hot on the flats , fished monday , 2 days ago and did'nt do as well as the cold cold cold front was moving in that day, warmed temps this weekend should help things out-- TIPS -- White buchertail has really been a great producer for me the last 2 falls , also white tandem mepps is good , as well as lindy's heavy spinner with a willow blade in red/white . Location --zelpo is covered with weeds so thick you can't get a spinner thru some parts , concentrate on the areas closest to shore on the zelpo beach side , from the 2nd bouy marker towards the shore. also there are good fishable weeds that extend 100's of yards down the shoreline on the outside of the bouys that run down towards zelpo beach. I wouls suggest starting at zelpo at daybreak and finishing up there at dark for sure , unless you see a big fish somewhere else. good weeds are also found back in the back of buck creek , also the small cove at the right hand entrance to buck creek has decent weeds , esp along the right hand bank. If it gets real sunny and the action slows switch to a crank bait and fish some 10-15 ft deep water. Buzz baits the 1 st hour of fishing is hard to beat , have not personally done any good on them but everyone else does. i'll be out there sat evening / sunday am in an old alum. crestliner with a 30 hp merc , probalbly be by myself , flag me down and say hi , are you fishing with "spongebob" ?? hope this helps , need anything else give me an email ManitouDan Dan Stevenson

Ive fished the cave the last 2 weekends and weve been on a lot of fish. two weekends ago, we had a MI tourney there. My boat came in first place, with a 30,36, and a 39. Our pattern was twitching jakes in the wood. Also, bucktails took a lot of fish. Last weekend, spinners and tallywacker type baits worked really well. Most of the major creeks are holding fish in the backs of coves. The key is just putting in a lot of time and you'll see and probably hook into a fish or two. The flats are really good, but you might want to call and make reservations to get on it because they are super-super-super crowded since the record was just broken there[]
