I am wondering if anyone has any reviews of the 9'6" rod Shimano introduced this year. I am considering pairing one with my Tranx as my big bucktail setup. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

I have the 8'6" xh. I absolutely love the rod. I think tho that the xh is a bit light for what you want to do. I go with the 8'6" xxh. I think that be your best bet. I am thinking if getting 8'6" xxh myself.

Havent used the 9'6" but have the 9'xxh and love It. Handles 10's great. Also best pounder rod ive used.that includes stc big dawg. Liked the new shimanos so much I sold my big dawg my sling bladeand thinkin bout sellin my long ranger. I also have 8'6" mh. Handles all normal musky baits great. Have the 8' xh for all gliding bait. Shimano really got there stuff together with new rods.

I have a 9' XH Okuma and while I have not had a lot of time in the last 3 years to use it I really liked it on a Canada trip I had 4 years ago. Good rods and nice action.

I thought that my okuma was a bit soft for an ''xh'' rod. I have an xh from you and it feels much better IMO. that said, I would agree with above. I would go xxh for blade rod.
