Location: mercer wi | Fish the flowage if you can. Get a good map n fish the islands off fishermans landing. Ive been finding most fish in shallow water. Especially wood n mud. Schools of small perch are in wood mud areas now. Waters high right now but got the dam open full roar. All the smaller lakes near town are good fisheries. Have caught really nice fish out of mercer lake. Hard to fish because really weedy.stay out little deeper n fish off weed edges. Lots of schools of blue gillls there. Tanks great cedar is worth a look as a action lake. Or head south to Mani Chain. Awsome fishing on the Mani. These lakes are my home waters.good luck. |

Location: Smith Creek | I'd go to the Flowage too. But if you're a first timer out there I suggest fishing Murray's landing, smaller water, easier to fish. |

| No I have never fished the flowage before I have fished the manitwiah chain once and that is about all so I do not have much experience in the area. What are they biting on? |

Location: Weyauwega Wi. | The Flowage is a good choice for this weekend. HOWEVER I would avoid it like the plague next weekend (Oct.4th & 5th). There is a 75 boat bass tournament out there.

| Being your first time on the Flo; if you're going to venture around a bit, pay close attention to your electronics. Try to stay on the main river channel whenever possible and look out for stumps.
UpNortDave pointed out a quality location for boat safety and fishing action. Lots of islands and some reefs around Fisherman Landing/Baraboo.
Water is stained on the Flo. Last couple years we've had the most action on bright colored baits, but don't get married to the idea... Bring a lure retriever if you're going to be throwing rubber.
The Flowage is super scenic, but can be tough, especially being your first time on it. If you're looking for action try some of the smaller lakes in town. UpNortDave referenced some good ones.
