Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | For all of you that fish Clearfork in the spring I am in need of your help.
I have never fished this body of water before, but I am thinking about hitting it around the 2nd or 3rd week of April. I was wondering if any of you could help me out since I have never been there.
What patterns produce fish during this time?
What are the water temps?
etc.....

| Hey Mike:
You'll like fishing Clearfork, it's a pretty lake with unlimited HP and a no wake rule. I lived in Lexington, OH for several years and fished CF on nearly a daily basis. Early spring look for fish along the north shore and at the west end along the creek channels. Smaller lures and bucktails should work fine. Hot-n-Tots and Rattle-Traps always were pretty good choices. Caught my personal best at Clearfork on a Buck Perry Spoonplug. Saddle areas between islands will also hold fish so give that a go too. Good Luck, be anxious to hear what you have to say about Clearfork after you have experienced it.

If you want to fish it with me, let me know. That is pretty much my home lake. The action has been slow, but I will probably go there on Sunday. Let me know. Maybe we can catch some ski's on some Fat Shads!

Conventional wisdom has very small baits on Clearfork early. Consider even going to bass sized baits. I'll be there on Saturday fishing in the Akron-Canton MI chapter tournament. I'll post a report here as to how things went and what was hot and what was not. |

Location: On the Niagara River in Buffalo, NY | Very small AC Shinner in Brown w/Gold Bars and Orange Belly,set out 35 feet from the boat,angled next to the propwash edge,trolled at 3.5 mph..Skirt the edges of new weedbed tips on structure edges and the old creek bed chanel that runs close to shore around the sailboat area to the boueys infront of the dam.Just before the dam there is a little dock,as you turn to your left,to be parallel to the dam,there is a little hump that comes up,look for musky to be there most of the time.

Location: Willoughby, Ohio | About 30 of us converged on Clear Fork Reservoir for a Muskies, Inc. tournament on Saturday. We went 0 for 30.:( We heard one person who wasn't in the tourney caught a 34"er trolling a small Rat-l-trap but no one else even had a rip. The water was very turbid due to the rains. The wind was steady at around 15-20 mph and the air temp was around 35. The water temp was 48. Oh well......
